As a class we watched a informational video about the Supreme Court that gave insight and a better understanding of how and why the nation needs the court. The Supreme Court consists of 9 justices with one being the Chief Justice. These wise justices are appointed by the current President and as one of the justices said it is "the equivalent to being struck by lighting."

Having been chose to be one of the nine is a huge honor and comes with great responsibility for they are the ones who are answering the great national questions that could potentially change the nation for better or worst. Their job is to interpret a 200 year-old document, which is very fascinating to think that something that was written long before us, is still relevant today and we still make decisions based upon what it says. They have the power to change the lives of thousands of Americans and the fact that they do make the wrong decisions at times leading to the country to lose faith in them shows that they are just as human and flawed as us.

Overall, the Supreme Court is a essential part to the government. They make life or death decisions. They are capable of changing the nation and making history.
